CPU overload after I "sort descend"
I have two large workbooks that I run together that are about 1850 rows by 8 columns. Between them there would be about 30,000 formulas with 16,000 of those being DDE formulas that import live data from an outside source. I have Autofilter selected so all the rows move together when I sort descend. Before I do my first sort descent to bring the highest number to the top in a column the live data is appearing in the spreadsheet the second it appears in the outside source. As in there is no delay. The CPU (quad 4) is humming away at about 8%. The moment I sort descend for the first time one core of the quad 4 maxes out with all DDE data taking over 60 seconds to arrive, and stays that way until I close down. Any ideas would be appreciated as I have been trying to get to the bottom of it for 12 months. Thanks 1 person needs an answerI do too
